Parametric Modeling in 3D CAD software’s

Some of the industries have standardization at the level of components used in their
machine or equipment. The design of which never changes but as per customer's requirements
its dimensions may vary.
Here we can use the concept of Library.

If user has 3D models of such components then, a parametric modeling approach is
extremely useful. For such components a 3D Model should be built by defining proper
constraints / dimensions which are driving or driven parameters. Some formulae can
be entered to derive some dimensions.
A software application can be designed which has user interface, where user can
enter inputs and later software will run a program which will automatically modify
these components. Such applications are scalable and we can go on adding the new
components and build a library for future use.
We can automatically update the drawings of the components once the model is created
with new inputs.
